BLURB:

Before She Can Put the Past Away…There’s Hell to Pay.

Hannah Taylor—the bright, bubbly publicity director of Silicon Valley’s celebrated startup Paragon Laboratories—was kidnapped and beaten. Her bodyguard-boyfriend, Wesley Eden, was shot right in front of her. The responsible party? None other than Chinese mogul Li Na Zhao, who’ll stop at nothing to steal Paragon’s blockbuster biotechnology from Hannah’s CEO sister Lauren.

Now, Wesley and Hannah are back home and on the mend. Their relationship is tested as Wesley struggles to recover, and Hannah, fueled by the injustice of Li Na’s actions, is out for retribution while refusing to acknowledge the PTSD she’s grappling with from her kidnapping. Convinced that Hannah is hiding the truth about her captivity, Wes is determined to find out what really happened while Li Na had Hannah.

Out to protect her loved ones, Hannah is hell-bent on finally taking Li Na down, especially after she discovers that Paragon isn’t the only Silicon Valley company in Li Na’s crosshairs. Naturally, the ethically challenged Chinese CEO likes her position on top and refuses to give up without a fight…

But Li Na hasn’t grappled with Hannah Taylor when she’s bent on revenge.

Broken beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia My thoughts on this 5 stakes review and more.

5 out of 5 stakes!

I really enjoyed this book, the characters all had something to add. Some good and some bad. I loved Peyton’s twin cousins. They looked out for her as if she was their little sister, when in fact she is older then them by a few months.
We see how the book starts off that Peyton has everything going for her, she is accepted into a great college early and on a great soccer team. Awesome sweet boyfriend, great friends and fantastic best friend.

But that all changes one night when Peyton discovers something about her oh so great boyfriend. And when he gets mad things end bad for Peyton and her dream of becoming a soccer player. And when no one believes Peyton when she tells them the truth, things get worse. Friends whom she thought she trusted turn their backs and her best friend believes her brother instead.

So when Peyton’s mother decides its best for her to move to her uncle’s to get better the next 4 months, she decides yeah it might be best. But there Peyton is afraid her uncle will tell her how her father died. Peyton doesn’t want to hear all the details. She just wants to get through physical therapy and play soccer in time for spring. But she doesn’t count on meeting Owen who wins her over without really trying. And making a new good friend in Grace and her male cousins. But her past is coming back to haunt her in the present. He ex can’t just let her go. I honestly don’t want to give anymore away then that. I will say Peyton sometimes annoyed me with her thinking, that she can do everything herself and doesn’t need help. I get that to a certain extin however with her wearing a brace… She is going to need help. I want another book to read more about these characters.

BROKEN BEAUTIFUL HEARTS Synopsis:

From #1 New York Times–bestselling author Kami Garcia comes a red-hot romance that will break your heart and put it back together again.

Her heart has to break before it can open.

When star soccer player Peyton Rios receives an offer from her first-choice college, senior year starts off exactly as planned. But when Peyton uncovers her boyfriend’s dark secret, she confronts him—and finds herself falling down a flight of stairs. Peyton’s knee—and maybe her dream of going pro—is shattered. Everyone is talking: Was she pushed, or did she fall? Peyton knows the truth, even if no one believes her.

He has to let someone in before it’s too late.

With her future on the line, Peyton goes to stay with her uncle in a small Tennessee town to focus on her recovery. Dating is the last thing on her mind—until she meets sweet, sexy Owen Law.

But Peyton doesn’t trust her heart, especially when she senses that Owen is hiding something. When their secrets are finally exposed, Peyton has to decide if love is worth fighting for.

Tess pulls into the hospital driveway and stops near the glass doors to the ER. She leaves the car running and hops out. “I’ll be right back.”

Once I’m alone, the panic hits me full-force. Some of the shock of Reed pushing me has worn off, and now all I can think about is my knee.

What if I can’t play soccer anymore? Permanent damage could keep me off the field—and end my career before it begins. Every once in a while you hear about a situation like this on the news. A high school athlete blows out a knee or an elbow during senior year, and it’s game over. What else will I do if soccer isn’t an option?

Nothing. I’ll do nothing.

Going pro has been my dream for as long as I remember. The folded acceptance letter is still tucked in my back pocket. I don’t have a plan B.

Tess returns with two nurses, and the three of them to help me out of the car and into a wheelchair. Inside, a nurse wheels me through a pair of double doors that lead to an examination area, where hospital beds are lined up along the walls and separated by privacy curtains. Once I’m settled in a hospital bed, Tess sits with me as the nurse takes down my personal information.

“Can you tell me where it hurts and describe the pain?” the nurse asks. “I’ve had some shooting pains, but there’s also a weird pulling feeling.

Is that bad?” I ask.

“I’m not a doctor, sweetheart. But don’t worry. This is an excellent hospital.” The nurse takes notes on a form attached to her clipboard. “How would you rate your pain, on a scale of one to ten? One being no pain and ten being unbearable pain.”

“If I don’t move my knee, it’s around a five. But if I bend it, the pain shoots up to an eight or nine.”

More like a ten.

I’m trying to be brave. A ten seems like a pain level of someone who survived a car crash, not a fall down the stairs. But if the nurse asked me to rate how scared I am right now, it’s a twelve.

“How did you hurt your knee?” the nurse asks.

If I say Reed pushed me intentionally, he might get arrested. If Tess weren’t in the picture, I would’ve called the police already.

But Mrs. Michaels can’t support herself and Tess on her own. She tried before and it didn’t go well. It seemed like every year they were moving into another crummy apartment. When Mrs. Michaels ran out of friends’ couches to crash on, Reed started working even more extra hours to help out.

“I fell down a flight of stairs,” I say.

“Did you hit your knee against anything?” She scribbles more notes on her clipboard.

“My kneecap hit the ground.”

“On the sidewalk,” Tess adds, wringing her hands.

The nurse finishes writing. “A doctor is going to come and take a look. Can I call someone for you?”

“I already talked to her mom,” Tess says. “She’s on her way.”

“I’ll be back to check on you in a few minutes.” The nurse pulls the privacy curtain around the bed, and Tess and I are alone again.

“Thanks for not saying anything,” she says.

“I know you don’t believe me, but I’m telling the truth.”

Tess presses the heels of her hands against her temples, like she’s fighting the worst headache of her life. “I don’t know what you want me to say. You’re my best friend. I want to believe you. But we’re talking about Reed. He’s my brother. He wouldn’t lie to me. And he loves you. He’d never hurt you.”

Until tonight I thought the same thing.

By a Charm and a Curse by Jamie Questell

5 out of 5 stakes!!

Amazing is what this book is. I loved it. I feel bad for what had to happen for Emma to get to know Ben. But that’s how a well written story goes. You can’t have it easy. In this book a kiss isn’t just a kiss. It ends up being everything and also very little to do with just a kiss. I really liked how everything came together with the curse and charm. Sure I guessed a few things, but the twist I didn’t exactly see coming. I really didn’t think what happened was going to happen.

My thoughts on What The Valley Knows by Heather Christie and buying links, giveaway information all below:

My thoughts on What The Valley Knows By Heather Christie 4 out of 5 stakes! Let me start off by saying I was hooked from the first page. I was like wow this is going to be a crazy great book. This book is told from three points of view. Which is nice because you don’t see that very often in books. Molly the main person whom we start off getting to know is very shy. And doesn’t talk much unless its with her mother. Molly doesn’t know how to really say what she thinks, feels she gets the words out wrong. So when she meets Wade its like a great connection that she didn’t realize she could have. But being with Wade makes her a target for the popular girls. The second point of view is from Wade, football jock and crushing on Molly hard. Wade has never felt anything like this before for any female. When he meets Molly it just clicks for him. He doesn’t want to share her with anyone and he realizes she really understands him. They just click. But with Wade’s bad habit of drinking can cost them their future. One night changes everything. The third point of view is from Ann, Molly’s mother. All Ann wants to do is give Molly everything. However having to work two jobs is hard to make time for her daughter. So when her boss at the law firm offers her a house to rent very cheap she takes it. Thinking this is just what her and Molly need to really have a home. However that’s just when things start to get weird. Again one night changes everyone’s outlook on everything. One night for one is meaningless for another. Each of them are connected to a night when things go wrong. Can Molly remember anything that happened? Only one person holds the key to that secret and they aren’t telling a soul. This book is very quick paced and I’d mention more, however I don’t want to give away any spoilers more then I may have.

4 out of 5 stakes!

This book has everything you would want in a book. Adventure, the undead, action and shape shifters.
Victoria is a young female who is the chosen one and she doesn’t really understand what all that means.

But with the help of her friends she will learn more about herself and her chosen one powers. With the undead walking among everyone its up to Victoria and her friends to get rid of dark forces.
However she must do it before they kill her and she’s not even sure why they want her dead.

With her parents she’s mixed with blood that the town doesn’t quite like her.
Because she’s half human and half something else.
Then on the hunt to find her father, her friends join her. But can they find him and save themselves? But finding him leads to some more questions.
I love all of the characters in this book and the narrator did a great job with the different voices.
Makes me wish I had the next book already.

Xo, Zach
By
Kendall Ryan
5 out of 5 stakes!

First off I love this book so much.
I have never read a book by this author and now that I have I want more.

The attraction between these two is terrific. Zach is so swoon worthy and funny to. I mean what more could someone ask for from a book boyfriend?
At first we think that Zach is just a playboy and wants to have some fun. But there is so much more to him then all of that.
Poppy is cool, however I think she needs some fun in her life and doesn’t realize it. And her two friends try to help her out and be there for her.

With Zach being her advisor things can’t go any further then that right?
But with her hiding something from Zach could it change how he feels about her? Would he want more then just one night? Could she be okay with just one night?

Getting these two together was my main focus, ha. I kept saying come on you both know you like each other. But I get why Poppy is holding back. She can’t mess anything up for her future.

The first time we met was at a party.

Your ex arrived to show off the person he’d left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date.

I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty–and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.

The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.

The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.

I know I’m crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that’s the only reaction I can get out of you, I’ll gladly take it.

You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week.

I think I’m falling for you, and I know it’s wrong. I know that I’m only supposed to be your adviser and nothing more, but here’s the thing. I think you’re falling for me too.

xo, Zach

Say you’ll remember me by Katie Mcgarry My thoughts and buying links:

5 out of 5 stakes!

This book is so beautifully written. The characters go through some things. And I feel like they realize so much more about themselves and what they want.
Drix what can I say about him?, I really like this character because when he could have easily gave up he did not. And after everything he went through. I was really unsure at first who planted everything to blame him for a crime he didn’t commit. Although he always was thinking about it, I’m glad he gave Elle a chance. And Elle I’m very glad she stuck with everything. I wish it would have been different for both of them to be able to come out and say hey we love each other.
This book is another that everyone should pick up. Teaches you to honestly really not judge someone by their status or looks.

SAY YOU’LL REMEMBER ME Synopsis:

“Doesn’t matter who did it. Not anymore. I did the time. It’s over.”

When Drix was convicted of a crime–one he didn’t commit–he thought his life was over. But opportunity came with the Second Chance Program, the governor’s newest pet project to get delinquents off the streets, rehabilitated and back into society. Drix knows this is his chance to get his life back on track, even if it means being paraded in front of reporters for a while.

Elle knows she lives a life of privilege. As the governor’s daughter, she can open doors with her name alone. But the expectations and pressure to be someone she isn’t may be too much to handle. She wants to follow her own path, whatever that means.

When Drix and Elle meet, their connection is immediate, but so are their problems. Drix is not the type of boy Elle’s parents have in mind for her, and Elle is not the kind of girl who can understand Drix’s messy life.

But sometimes love can breach all barriers.

Fighting against a society that can’t imagine them together, Drix and Elle must push themselves–Drix to confront the truth of the robbery, and Elle to assert her independence–and each other to finally get what they deserve.
